Seminar: What is Critical University Studies – and what is it good for?
Critical University Studies in an emerging interdisciplinary field. It considers all aspects of the university as a social, cultural and economic institution, and from many different perspectives: students, academic staff, administrative staff, managers, policy makers, the general public, etc. While much research in the field of higher education is descriptive, technocratically evaluative, unselfconsciously normative, or functionalist, CUS research is ‘critical’, where the notion of critical is understood and enacted in many different ways. In this seminar we invite two scholars to give their take on Critical University Studies, followed by an open discussion.
All welcome on Thursday, June 22, 2017.
The seminar is hosted by the RUC research group Critical University Studies, http://forskning.ruc.dk/site/en/organisations/critical-university-studies(001fa8c0-735c-441e-921a-7ebce6aea05a).html
